What radon level means I need a mitigation system?
The EPA and the Minnesota Department of Health recommend fixing a home when radon tests at or above 4 picocuries per liter (pCi/L), and considering mitigation between 2 and 4 pCi/L. If your test is in that range, call us and we will walk you through the result.
How does a radon mitigation system work?
Most systems use sub-slab depressurization: a pipe is set through the basement floor, a fan draws radon-laden soil gas from beneath the slab, and the pipe vents it above the roofline where it disperses harmlessly.
How long does a radon mitigation installation take?
A standard system is usually installed in a single day. We confirm the timeline when we assess your home and keep you updated throughout the job.
How do I know the system is working?
After installation the home should be retested to confirm levels have dropped below 4 pCi/L. The system also has a gauge so you can see at a glance that the fan is drawing air.
Do you help when a home sale requires mitigation?
Yes. Many of our customers call during a home sale when the inspection radon test comes back high. We work to the closing timeline and keep buyers, sellers and agents informed.
